MELBOURNE, Fla. – Douglas Samuels, president and chief executive officer of Space Coast Credit Union has died unexpectedly.
Mr. Samuels was 57. He joined the credit union in 1991 as the Vice President of Information Systems, and he has served as the credit union’s president and CEO since 1997.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Doug Samuels," said Dale Neubert, board chair, in a statement. "He was first and foremost a generous, selfless individual dedicated to his family, as well as an inspiring mission-focused leader, who served the credit union, its employees, and its membership with vision and commitment. He will be greatly missed and we extend our deepest sympathies to his family.”
Timothy M. Antonition, executive vice president and chief operations officer, has been appointed as acting CEO.
