MARLBOROUGH, Mass. –The $5.6-billion Digital FCU here has named the winners of its second annual DCU Innovation Contest, which challenges students at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell to develop an idea or product that could make a difference in the financial services industry.
The winners of this year’s competition are Joseph Baglio and Meghan Foster, who pitched an idea called “The Bears,” an app that helps members to budget money across different categories. More specifically, the app would help visual learners to see how they are saving to meet individual goals. The two winners each received $500, and two other finalists received $100 each. The DCU Innovation Contest is part of UM-Lowell’s DifferenceMaker event.
