Dave And Don Golf Classic Raises More Than $1 Million

PORTLAND, Ore.–The Dave and Don Classic golf tournament sponsored by First Tech Credit Union and the Pacific Northwest credit union community has raised $1.1 million for CU4Kids through its recent event.

The tournament, named after Pro Football Hall of Famers Dave Wilcox and Dan Fouts, helped raise more than $900,000, and a subsequent auction raised the rest of the funds.

“We have been so blessed with great members, great team members, and strategic partners at First Tech, and in the credit union movement,” said First Tech CEO Greg Mitchell. “They really want to make a difference in the lives of kids.”

Mitchell said funds raised this year will benefit Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in Oregon, Washington, California and Colorado, all markets in which First Tech has operations.

The golf tournament and other events included numerous celebrities.

“Celebrities love to come to Portland, they love to golf and they love this course,” said Fouts, who quarterbacked for the San Diego Chargers from 1973-1987 and who lost a son to cancer.
