Dates Released for 2020 CUDE Trainings; Scholarship Apps Now Open

MADISON, Wis.–The National Credit Union Foundation has announced the dates of its four Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) trainings for 2020, as well as the day registration opens. The application period for scholarships has also opened.

Registration for the CUDE Program will open on Jan. 7, 2020 at 11 AM CST. “Registration is limited to one person per organization per class with a maximum capacity of 48 students per training, which means classes fill up fast!” the Foundation said.

All 2020 U.S. DE Programs will be hosted in Madison, Wis. on the following dates:
March 29 - April 4, 2020
May 10 - 16, 2020
September 13 - 19, 2020
November 8 - 14, 2020

‘Mix of Amazing People’

According to the NCUF, the “DE Program is an experiential leadership training made even more special by the diversity within the classroom. The learning at DE is always enhanced by having a mix of amazing people with different levels of experience, expertise, cultural backgrounds and values. Our programs are stronger when we have international DE participants in the classroom who provide invaluable insights into our global credit union movement and share our passion for people helping people.”

In 2020, the Foundation said it has set a goal of having at least one international DE per table at each of our four trainings.

“To accomplish this, we are reducing the cost of registration for international participants to $2,500 (limit six seats per training) and increasing the registration cost for U.S./domestic participants to $3,300,” the Foundation said. “This pricing will help us to continue covering the cost of DE Training while offsetting some of the additional costs international participants incur while traveling to the U.S.”

Scholarships Offered

Both domestic and international registration amounts will continue to cover program registration, lodging and meals for the duration of training (travel costs are the responsibility of the participants). International participants must have completed their home DE program to participate, the Foundation said.

The National Credit Union Foundation added it is proud to support DE scholarships – provided by the DE Scholarship Fund – which offer full registration for individuals to attend one of the U.S. DE Programs in 2020.

“These scholarships are intended to provide leaders and emerging leaders from small credit unions and international DEs the opportunity to attend our program. Each scholarship covers a full DE Program registration as well as lodging and meals during the training. Please note that scholarship winners must provide their own transportation to participate.”
