QUAD CITIES, Iowa—DHCU Community Credit Union is changing its name to Vibrant Credit Union. It said it is making the change to “better reflect its approach to financial services.”
DHCU Community said it will be transitioning over to the new name in its branches, website, collateral materials and elsewhere over the next six weeks, with the name change effective May 11.
“We’ve been serving the Quad-Cities since 1935,” said Matt McCombs, president/CEO, in a released statement. “We were chartered to serve the employees of the John Deere Harvester Works plant and their families. Today, anyone in the community can become a member. We wanted a new name that offers a wider welcome, a name that conveys some of what makes us different. There’s a lot we want to share with our members and the community and the most important thing is that this name change does not mean we’re being bought or sold. “
In addition to the new name, the credit union said it will also be opening three new branches in 2015 and several branches per year in the years following that.”
The $487-million, soon-to-be Vibrant CU has almost 41,000 members.
