WASHINGTON–The Defense Credit Union Council said its winter advocacy update, Defense Matters, will be offered as a webinar in 2021.
After a year of challenges and changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DCUC noted it hosted its annual conference online to overwhelmingly positive results. While the digital format presented unique challenges, it provided DCUC members across the country, including those that would not otherwise be able to attend, with the opportunity to participate in the event and gain valuable information on issues affecting defense credit unions, the DCUC added.
Following that success, the DCUC said it decided it was important to continue offering digital opportunities for its members.
“The Defense Matters Webinar will provide an important advocacy update to all members and keep them abreast on important issues. As in past years, Defense Matters 2021 will be held shortly before CUNA’s GAC,” the organization said.
As credit union volunteers, staff, and executives Hike the Hill in person or virtually, it is important to add the defense credit union perspective to these advocacy conversations, the DCUC added.
“The best part about virtual meetings is that all of our members can participate. These updates are important to our members and provide them with the information they need to successfully advocate on behalf of their military community,” said Anthony Hernandez, DCUC president/CEO.
The Defense Matters webinar will take place on Feb. 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM ET.
