WASHINGTON—The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) has received the annual Military Saves Savings Champion award from Military Saves in recognition of its support of the Military Saves Month 2021.
This honor is reserved for organizations who directly serve the military community and exhibit outstanding efforts in motivating their communities to build wealth and reduce debt.
DCUC said it is proud to support Military Saves and their efforts to promote savings and financial wellbeing among military and veteran communities. Each April, DCUC noted, Military Saves Month is an opportunity for the entire military community to assess their savings status and plan to start or increase saving, and for organizations to support good savings behavior.
“DCUC is proud to support Military Saves and the work they do to make savings more accessible to our military community,” stated Anthony Hernandez, DCUC president and CEO. “Military Saves Month provides important opportunities for learning and growth. I have always been impressed with the work Military Saves and our defense credit unions do to support our military community in setting and reaching their savings goals. This year was no exception.”
Eight CUs Honored
Eight defense credit unions received the Military Saves Designation of Savings Excellence: Community Resource Federal Credit Union, Hanscom Federal Credit Union, Navy Federal Credit Union, New Horizons Credit Union, Pentagon Federal Credit Union, Scott Credit Union, Travis Credit Union, and Pioneer Valley Credit Union. DCUC said it be recognizing its achievement during the council’s annual conference in Naples, Fla., on Aug. 12, 2021.
