WASHINGTON--The Defense Credit Union Council Monday sent several letters to key congressional committees in advance of upcoming hearings to advocate for the financial well-being of military members and the credit unions that serve them.
DCUC urged the House Appropriations Committee to preserve full funding for the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, highlighting its critical role in supporting underserved military communities.
In parallel, DCUC reaffirmed the importance of maintaining the federal tax-exempt status of credit unions and offered recommendations to the House Financial Services Subcommittee on developing a clear, consistent regulatory framework for digital assets.
