DCU Drops the Puck on Sponsorship Deal with U.S. College Hockey Online

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–Digital FCU (DCU) said it has entered into a sponsorship deal with U.S. College Hockey Online that will, among other things, rebrand the USCHO.com poll, which is one of college hockey’s best-known ranking tools.

The deal will also  provide DCU website presence and onsite branding at the 2022 Frozen Four in Boston, which is the semi-finals and finals championship games, and make DCU the charitable sponsor for the 2022 Hockey Humanitarian Award, which annually recognizes college hockey’s top citizen.

According to the credit union, the partnership was soft launched with the release of the mid-December DCU/USCHO.com Polls across both Division I and Division III men’s and women’s hockey. Each Monday during the college hockey season, a new poll will be released featuring the two well-known brands, the organizations said.

In addition, DCU will also be the presenting sponsor of USCHO’s three weekly podcasts – USCHO Weekend Review, USCHO Spotlight and USCHO Game of the Week, and will have advertising spots throughout each podcast for the remainder of the season. Each segment will be tagged with DCU messaging.

Event in CU’s Backyard

According to the Cooperative Credit Union Association, with the 2022 Frozen Four being held in DCU’s backyard, the credit union will have an extensive on-site presence during key USCHO events, including cohosting a VIP reception with USCHO and having a brand presence during USCHO’s on-site broadcasts in Boston. A representative from DCU will also present the Hockey Humanitarian recipient and the award’s finalists with financial donations to the charities with which they each work, according to the CCUA.

“DCU is proud to partner with the USCHO on the presentation of the Hockey Humanitarian Award,“ said Ed Niser, DCU’s assistant public relations manager. “As a credit union, we pride ourselves on doing the right thing and making a difference in the lives of our members and their communities. These Hockey Humanitarians are community lamplighters. Both they and the USCHO embody DCU’s values in the charitable work that they perform.”
