Cybersecurity Resource Guide for Financial Institutions is Updated

WASHINGTON—The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) has updated its Cybersecurity Resource Guide for Financial Institutions.

The FFIEC said the purpose of the guide is to “help financial institutions meet their security control objectives and prepare to respond to cyber incidents.”

The update to the guide reflects the increase of ransomware attacks and includes “ransomware-specific resources to address this ongoing threat,” NAFCU noted.

A majority of the guide’s identified resources are free government resources, including CISA Cyber Resources.

The listed resources in the guide can assist in the performance of cyber assessments, tabletop exercises, information sharing, and ransomware prevention, according to the FFIEC.
