Crypto May Have Lost Its Luster, But Not for PayPal

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Despite the crash in values, PayPal appears to be ramping up its attention to cryptocurrency, according to a new report.

Late in 2021, the firm widened its service into the U.K., including support for virtual assets particularly for U.K. users, Technext said.

“Now there is a new announcement. PayPal is ready to explore the options of expanding its crypto service across 26-country trading blocs,” Technext reported. PayPal “has agreed that its first crypto foray into the E.U. should begin in Luxembourg.”

The company did not suggest the particular time these crypto services might become accessible, Technext said.

Support Added

Technext said PayPal will begin by adding support for four different cryptos: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum.

“The minimum purchase will be only 1 euro in order to make a new service available and affordable for everyone to use,” Technext said.
