Credit Unions in Colorado, Tennessee Name New Leader

ARVADA, Colo. –Two credit unions have named new CEOs.

In Colorado, the $536-million Sooper CU has selected Carrie Langgard to lead the organization, succeeding Dan Kester, who retired.

Langgard began her career with Sooper Credit Union in 2014 as CFO and was promoted to executive vice president and successor to the CEO in 2019. Prior to joining Sooper Credit Union, Langgard held several executive and senior leadership roles at Denver area credit unions during her more than 25 years in the credit union and cooperative industries. She also holds a BBA, Accounting and Finance from the University of Regina – Luther College and a BS, Accounting and Economics from the University of Phoenix.

Langgard currently serves on the boards of Aux, CU Prodigy, and InNetwork, and the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy.

Jennifer Ventimiglia

New CEO in Tennessee

Separately, in Clarksville, Tenn., Fortera CU has named Jennifer Ventimiglia as its new president to succeed Tom Kane, who will retire this year after 12 years leading the organization.  Upon Kane’s retirement, Ventimiglia will add the CEO title.

Ventimiglia began her career at Fortera in 2015 as chief digital officer before being named EVP/COO.

During her career with the CU Fortera has seen asset growth from $470 million in assets to $713 million in assets.

“The opportunity to serve Fortera in this role is a tremendous honor,” Ventimiglia said in a statement. “I look forward to growing the legacy established through Tom’s leadership of providing an exceptional service experience and workplace environment. Together we will build upon the core values that shape our organization and the credit union difference.”
