MONTGOMERY, Ala.–Credit unions will be watching the results of one primary race today here. A run-off is taking place between two Republicans for the seat representing Alabama’s second district.
The race is between the incumbent, Martha Roby, and challenger Bobby Bright, who is a former member of Congress. Neither Roby nor Bright received more than 50% of the vote in the earlier primary, which leads to a runoff in Alabama to become the candidate in November’s Elections.
CUNA, the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee (CULAC), and the League of Southeastern Credit Unions has put its support behind Roby.
The winner of the race will face Democrat Tabitha Isner in November’s general election.
