Credit Unions Continue to Intro High-Rate CDs; First Entertainment Has 5% Offering

HOLLYWOOD, Calif.–Credit unions continue to roll out high-rate savings certificates as they seek liquidity and deposits.

The latest: First Entertainment Credit Union which has launched a 5% Short Term Savings Certificate. The product has a six-month term.

“Many people want the ability to access their money quickly, but also want a competitive rate that helps them get the most out of their savings,” said Addie Allison, SVP/chief experience officer. “We've always been a leader in providing exceptional products for members of the entertainment community, and this new six-month certificate is a great fit for those who want to earn a higher return without locking up their money for a long period of time.”

A minimum deposit of $5,000 is required to open the account, while the account has a maximum deposit of $5 million.
