PLANO, Texas–Credit Unions Care Day is back and is being celebrated today.
Championed by the Cornerstone Credit Union League, the league said its employees will honor the day with volunteerism.
“It’s also the perfect time to become part of the Karen Hart Legacy Society,” the Cornerstone league stated. “Launched after Cornerstone League EVP/CFO/CAO Karen Hart’s retirement in 2021, the society continues her legacy by helping sustain the good work of the Cornerstone Foundation for the benefit of our regional credit unions.”
The league noted Hart dedicated four decades to serving credit unions in our region, starting as a check typist at 17 years old and retiring in 2021 as the chief financial officer, chief administrative officer, and executive vice president.
“I have always taken great pride in everything we do for credit unions,” Hart was quoted by the CCUL as saying. “I believe in our principles, our philosophy, and the fact that we go above and beyond to serve a movement that gives back. There is no better job.”
