MADISON, Wis./WASHINGTON–Credit unions are now able to register and identify themselves and their websites with a new domain, “.creditunion.”
CUNA is reminding that the domain names will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and are available exclusively to currently operating, natural-person U.S. credit unions. The website register.creditunion has useful additional information about the steps a credit union will need to take to secure a .creditunion domain for themselves, CUNA said.
A credit union can only register its .creditunion domain name from an accredited and approved registrar or reseller. A complete list of approved registrars is available here.
CUNA noted that in addition to the work and resources it put toward creating the .creditunion domain, CUNA Mutual Group and CO-OP Financial Services also provided financial support.
