WASHINGTON–Today marks another day for primary elections or run-off elections.
Primary elections are taking place in three states, and credit unions are backing 31 different candidates, all of whom are incumbents. The races are taking place in Kentucky, New York and Virginia, with CUNA’s Credit Union Legislative Action Committee (CULAC) and the respective state leagues are providing support.
“We expect all of the incumbents to ultimately prevail,” said Trey Hawkins, deputy chief advocacy officer.
Hearing Schedule
Meanwhile, in Washington itself, credit unions are watching several hearings this week, including:
- Today, the Senate Banking Committee will hold an oversight hearing of the Export-Import Bank. As Cutoday.info reported earlier, NCUA recently signed an agreement with the ExIm Bank.
- On Wednesday, the Senate Commerce Committee will hold an oversight hearing with the Federal Communications Commission
- On Thursday, a House Financial Services subcommittee will hold a hearing on capital markets and emergency lending amid the coronavirus pandemic.
