WASHINGTON–There are two state primaries this week in which credit unions have a stake.
Primaries are taking place in Alaska and Wyoming. In the Last Frontier State, credit unions are backing Lisa Murkowski, the Republican incumbent in the Senate race. In Wyoming, Rep. Liz Cheney has the support of credit unions in the Republican primary, even though she is widely expected to lose to newcomer Harriett Hageman due to her role on the January 6 committee and her criticism of former President Donald Trump.
To date, CUNA’s political action committee, the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee (CULAC), reports it has supported 266 winning candidates in 276 races.
