WASHINGTON–Credit Union Miracle Day (CUMD), the title sponsor group of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, has added two new members to its board: John Bratsakis, president/CEO of the MD|DC Credit Union Association, and Karen Rosales, president/CEO of Arlington Community Federal Credit Union in Arlington, Va.
“We are very excited to have John and Karen on our team. Their depth of experience and talents will help take us to a new level of participation and commitment from credit unions and business partners in this nationally
recognized, collaborative program,” said Theresa Mann, chair of Credit Union Miracle Day, in a released statement.
Bratsakis and Rosales join current board members Chair Theresa Mann, president/CEO of the Partnership FCU; Vice Chair Charlie Mallon, president/CEO of Congressional FCU; Treasurer Jan Roche, president/CEO of State Department FCU; and Juri Valdov, retired president/CEO of Northwest FCU.
The race title sponsorship was recently renewed for three years – 2017, 2018, 2019 - and CUNA Mutual Group and PSCU have committed to being the co-lead financial supporters.
The 45th running of the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run will take place Sunday, April 2.
Since becoming the title sponsors of races in 2002, Credit Union Miracle Day, a collaboration of over 100 credit unions and business partners and CUSOs, has donated over $7.5 million to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country, under the umbrella of Credit Unions for Kids. Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is an alliance of premier children’s hospitals which treat 10 million critically ill children annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
The Credit Union Cherry Blossom Run is part of a Family of Races which also includes the Credit Union SacTown Run in California, a Freedom Run at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, sponsored by the Defense Credit Union Council, and a Freedom Run in Wiesbaden Army Garrison in Germany, sponsored by Andrews FCU.
