Credit Union Manager Is Indicted

Ashley Rubbert Comer

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–A credit union manager here has been indicted for alleged theft.

A Davidson County, Tenn., grand jury has indicted Ashley Rubbert Comer, 30, the interim manager of the $7-million N.G.H. Credit Union, on one count of forgery, one count of theft over $60,000 and eight counts of worthless checks.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, its agents began investigating Comer in mid-May at the request of 20th District Attorney General Glenn Funk. Agents allegedly found that Comer opened loans in the names of family and friends without their consent and accessed the funds for her personal use, the Johnson City Press reported.

Additional investigation found that Comer also allegedly wrote checks against her own bank account on several occasions while knowing she didn’t have sufficient funds to cover the amounts.

Comer has been booked into the Davidson County Jail on $100,000 bond.
