CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas–Veronica “Ronnie” Mahzoon Hagheghi, CEO of Nueces County Employees Credit Union, has died. Ms. Mahzoon-Hagheghi was 62.
Mahzoon-Hagheghi had been CEO of the credit union for the past 15 years, according to the Cornerstone Credit Union League. The $5.3-million NCECU has approximately 1,200 members.
Prior to joining the credit union, she worked for the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office in the Civil Section of the Warrants Division for more than 20 years, followed by a move within the Sheriff's Office as a reserve deputy.
Mahzoon-Hagheghi was buried at Seaside Memorial Cemetery. The family has asked that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
