COLUMBUS, Ohio —With the October EMV liability shift deadline approaching, Corporate One FCU has introduced a program to help small and mid-sized CUs make the changeover.
The new turnkey program Clique—offered in partnership with St. Petersburg, Fla.-based PSCU—includes free EMV cards. Corporate One said the program is tailored to the size and scale of the institution.
“We called it ‘Clique’ for two main reasons,” said SVP, Chief Product Management Officer Keith Riddle, in a release. “First, Clique has been designed to make the credit unions and their cardholders who use it feel like they’re part of something special. And they will be. Second, we’ve designed this program to be comprehensive and all encompassing—we want everything to just ‘click’ for our credit union users.”
Post implementation, Clique offers ongoing business tools and member support, said Toby Thomas, VP, business unit executive. “More than 65% of our membership is small and mid-sized credit unions. Because we have been dedicated to serving this segment of the credit union industry for many years, we were well-acquainted with the need for a turnkey, fully supported cards program, and we developed Clique to meet this need.”
Corporate One said its partnership with PSCU brings “economical” card processing to small and mid-sized credit unions. PSCU last month became certified to issue debit cards with EMV chip card technology on First Data’s Debit Solutions platform.
Clique’s EMV promotion will cover the costs associated with re-issuing EMV cards to credit unions’ debit and credit cardholders.
“With this promotion, which has been extended to include debit cards along with credit cards,” said Riddle, “credit unions could have up to 10,000 credit and debit cards re-issued for free thanks to Clique, for a savings up to $100,000 per credit union.”
