FARMERS BRANCH, Texas—The Cornerstone Credit Union League has awarded its first-ever Lending Professional of the Year Award to Kanika Boutte, lending vice president at Energy Capital Credit Union in Houston.
The Cornerstone league said the Lending Professional of the Year award was created in collaboration with the Cornerstone’s Lending Council in 2014 with a purpose of recognizing credit union lending professionals who generate outstanding lending results through stable and sustainable operations.
Boutte, who has more than 18 years of financial services experience—13 with Energy Capital—started her career as a student-worker in a credit union, before becoming a senior loan officer and then vice president of lending. Under her supervision, the credit union has seen double-digit loan growth for the past two years, the league said.
In 2011, Boutte graduated with honors from Southwest CUNA Management School. She is a member of CUNA’s Lending Council and serves as chair for the Cornerstone Lending Council Executive Committee.
