Cooperative Credit Union Association Names New CEO

MARLBOROUGH, Mass. — The Cooperative Credit Union Association has named a new president/CEO.

Ronald McLean

The association, which represents credit unions in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Delaware, has named Ronald McLean to lead the organization.

McLean most recently served as SVP-chief engagement officer of the New York Credit Union Association where he led the member relations team and managed affiliation/membership, chapters and strategic business partners. He also oversaw the association’s communications & marketing and events & training departments, as well as the New York Credit Union Foundation, the CCUA reported.

Prior to his appointment to chief engagement officer, McLean served as the association's chief marketing officer. He joined the New York Credit Union Association in 1994, serving as vice president in the Association's executive office.

McLean is a Massachusetts native and fills the void left by Sarah Vega, chief of staff to NCUA Chairman J. Mark McWatters, who had been announced as the new CCUA CEO only to later decline the position. The CCUA has approximately 200 member credit unions.
