Cooperative CU Association in Partnership to Provide CUs with Improved Medical Benefits

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–The Cooperative Credit Union said it has entered into a new partnership designed to offer credit unions the ability to offer improved benefits at a lower cost.

The CCUA said it is joining with Alera Group to “leverage the combined purchasing power of over 200 member organizations” on the initiative, which is called NEXGEN.

“NEXGEN is accessed  through an easy and customizable web-based experience offering progressive and affordable Telemedicine, Pharmacy savings, low-cost Vision, Dental and Voluntary plan options,” the Cooperative CU Association said. “Our benefits will help credit union members make smarter healthcare purchasing decisions by explaining how to better access care. It enhances existing benefits while saving employees and their families money.”

The association said it will be introducing NEXTGEN during its October APEX Expo.

The Offerings

Offerings include:

  • Telemedicine
  • Virtual dermatology
  • Virtual behavioral bealth
  • Laboratory testing
  • Pharmacy savings
  • Health risk assessment
  • Second opinion services
  • Medical pricing transparency and medical bill negotiation
  • Discounted vision and dental programs
  • Critical Care and voluntary plans for higher wage earners.
