MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–The board of the Cooperative Credit Union Association has voted unanimously to join the CU Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Collective.
According to the association, the pledge underscores the organization’s commitment to further the cooperative principle of DEI and substantiates CEO Ron McLean’s pledge to bring awareness and educational programming on the subject to the membership.
“By signing the DEI pledge, we make an important statement that affirms DEI is a priority for CCUA. We strive to help our members better understand all aspects of DEI, including the business case for why it’s important and start internal dialogues within the credit union community,” McLean stated. “Joining the CU DEI Collective will enhance our efforts and provide our credit unions with additional resources to leverage diversity and inclusion. Our ultimate goal is to create means and opportunities for all people.”
