MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–The Cooperative Credit Union Association said it has retained a new search firm as it launches a new search for a CEO.
As CUToday.info reported here earlier, in October, less than two weeks after announcing at its annual meeting that Sarah Vega would leave NCUA in order to become president/CEO of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, Vega opted to not take the position and remain chief of staff to Chairman J. Mark McWatters. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Paul Gentile, who left to become president/CEO of Merck Employees FCU in Rahway, N.J.
Now, after reviewing proposals from four executive search firms, the Cooperative CU Association said it has selected Sievewright Associates to help it identify a new leader. Sievewright Associates is led by Mark Sievewright, who formerly led Fiserv’s credit union division and who now leads his own firm.
The CCUA said it has also engaged John Gregoire to assist the board in the development of a vision for CCUA and for its new president/CEO.
“The board now looks forward to working with both John and Mark over the course of the next several months on developing a vision and identifying the most qualified candidate to become the Association's next president/CEO,” the CCUA said in a statement.
The Cooperative Credit Union Association represents credit unions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Delaware.
