Controversial NCUA Budget On Board’s Agenda This Morning

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–The NCUA Board will be meeting today with at least one agenda item likely to generate some controversy and debate.

The board will review and vote on the agency’s 2015 Mid-year Operating Budget and Reprogramming. The CU trade groups have been outspoken in demanding more input into the NCUA budget, a process often referred to as “transparency,” while NCUA Board Member Mark McWatters has also been critical of what he has termed a lack of stakeholder input into the budget.

Also on the agenda: A quarterly report of the NCUSIF; a performance report on the NCUA Guaranteed Notes; a report on the Corporate Stabilization Fund Assessment Determination; a vote on the final rule, part 702, Subpart E, Capital Planning and Stress Testing Schedules, and a vote on the final rule, part 701.36, Federal Credit Union Ownership of Fixed Assets.

CUToday.info will provide full coverage. The meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. ET.
