HERNDON, Va.—Northwest Federal Credit Union is using its Facebook page to ask members one question, “Why Do I Northwest?”
Over a 10-week period, members who answer that question are eligible to win up to $100 each week for posting their response. The winners are chosen randomly from among members posting comments.
“It’s been really heartwarming to read the comments posted by members so far,” said Chris McDonald, Northwest Federal CEO. “One member told how a loan from us helped her cover medical bills following surgery. Another commented about our excellent and friendly customer service. A third said it’s the fact that we strive to be upfront and honest.”
To be eligible for the weekly drawing, members need to “Like” Northwest Federal’s Facebook page and then post comments during the week about their membership experience. So far, comments range from praise for low loan rates and good customer service to fee-free checking and financial education for children and youth.
“I love Northwest Federal Credit Union because I have never had a problem,” commented Anita P., the first week’s winner. “No ATM issues, no issues getting money from my accounts. Car loan and mortgage rates are good. Staff is friendly. Great locations.”
More than 100 members have commented on the Facebook page so far. “It’s a privilege to give back to members through the contest, and having these positive comments out there for everyone who visits our page to see enables us to share our member’s feedback on our service.” said McDonald.
