Connecticut’s Credit Union Leaders Are Honored; Board Is Elected

MERIDEN, Conn.–Credit union leaders in the Nutmeg State have been honored by the Connecticut Credit Union League, while board election results have also been announced.

During the meeting:

  • John Riley, SVP-Operations and recently retired, Hartford FCU, was named 2018 Connecticut Credit Union Outstanding Professional, recognizing exemplary performance and contributions made to his credit union and the overall movement.
  • Dr. Luis Ramos, Board Chair, Nutmeg State Financial CU, was named 2018 Connecticut Credit Union Volunteer of the Year, recognizing extraordinary commitment to the credit union movement.
  • Francis Proto, President/CEO, Dutch Point CU, was named 2018 Advocate of the Year, recognizing exemplary political advocacy efforts.

In addition, Marketing Excellence awards recognized GE CU, Windsor Locks FCU, Mutual Security CU, Connex CU, UBI FCU, Dutch Point CU, Nutmeg State Financial CU, and Metropolitan District ECU for strategic results driven marketing.

A special honor was also made to Victor Petroni, SVP of Lending at Finex CU, for his more than 25 years of service to the credit union movement. Another special honor was made to Stuart Phillips, President/CEO, UBI FCU, for serving 11 years on the league board and his dedication to the system.

During the annual business meeting, members of the league re-elected Bradley Sullivan of Charter Oak FCU and Michael Hinchey of Wepawaug-Flagg FCU to the League board. Newly elected was Jo-Ann Palladino of SoundView Financial CU. No officer changes were made during the reorganization meeting. The board officers are Michael Hinchey of Wepawaug-Flagg FCU as chair, Vincent Ciambriello of Sikorsky Financial CU, as vice chair, Gail Todd of Greenwich Municipal EFCU, as secretary, and Mark Cornacchio of First Bristol FCU, as treasurer.
