CALGARY, Alberta–Connect First Credit Union is continuing its expansion by adding another credit union as a locally branded division.
Connect First, which is currently Canada’s seventh largest credit union, said it is “deepening its commitment to being Alberta’s Neighborhood Credit Union” with the addition of Mountain View Credit Union, which will now be known as Mountain View Financial, a division of Connect First Credit Union.
The new Mountain View Financial will be led by President Stephen Brosinsky, who was promoted from his previous role as VP-operations at Mountain View Credit Union.
The move means the Connect First brands will now serve 120,000 central and southern Albertans across 42 branch locations. It also operates as local brands Calgary Financial, Chinook Financial and Legacy Financial, in addition to the new Mountain View Financial.
With the amalgamation, Connect First said it has expanded its executive leadership team and “introduced new specialized divisions that will continue to propel the organization forward.”
Four Mountain View Credit Union directors have also joined the board of Connect First.
“Today marks the start of a new journey for Mountain View,” said Brosinsky in a statement. “We’re excited to expand and to be working with the talented team at Connect First to offer the best service experience possible for our members, both when they’re close to home and when they’re travelling across southern Alberta.”
Connect First has (C) $5.4 billion in assets.
