WASHINGTON—Members of Congress this week remain in their home districts and states for the final week of August recess, but will begin returning next week when NAFCU will also be hosting its annual Congressional Caucus.
Registration for NAFCU’s Congressional Caucus, set Sept. 8-11, remains open. Recently added speakers include Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer and CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger.
Last week, NAFCU's Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler provided an update on the status of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2020. The House and Senate versions of the bill are set to be reconciled via a conference committee this fall.
The association encourages credit unions to utilize its Grassroots Action Center to learn more about current issues, including the NDAA lease provision, and contact lawmakers and set up meetings.
