Community First CU Opens New $25-Million Headquarters

FOX CROSSING, Wis.–After five years of planning and two years of construction, Community First Credit Union has opened a new $25-million headquarters here.

The 220 employees of the $2.77-billion Community First have now moved into the space, and the credit union is also hiring 12 more people.

Cathie Tierney, president and CEO of the credit union, said physical facilities remain a key component of its strategy moving forward.

“We offer all of the online services, but we believe one of our key differentiators is to be an educator and financial consultant,” Tierney told local media. “When people buy a new home, they want to sit down, across a table, and talk to someone.”

The new 130,000-square-foot building has three wings, 39 meeting rooms and a central rotunda atrium with live plants. The building's glass walls seek to provide an open feel and let in natural light.

It also includes a “great room” at the heart of the building is a cafeteria and dining room where employees and members can eat breakfast or lunch, sit by a fireplace and look out on fountains and the pond, the credit union said.
