ROCKLEDGE, Fla.–David O. Brock, CEO of Community Credit Union here, has announced his retirement, and the credit union has named a successor.
Brock has spent 42 years in credit unions, the last 26 as president and CEO of the $641-million Community CU.
Writing on the credit union’s website, Brock quoted from The Byrds’ “Turn, Turn, Turn,” which in turn quotes Ecclesiastes and states “To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven.”
After thanking the credit union’s board for its service, Brock said, “I am especially thankful for our members who give us their business and their trust. I know that my colleagues will work tirelessly to earn both. I firmly believe in the words spoken in Congress back in 1934 by Congressman Wright Patman… ‘Other than the church, I don’t know of any institution that does as much good for people.’ May God continue to bless Community Credit Union and all whom we serve.”
Named to succeed Brock on Feb. 1, 2018, as president/CEO is Laurie Cappelli, who has been with CCU for 20 years, the last 10 as SVP.
