ELYRIA, Ohio–CommStar Credit Union has named a new CEO.
CommStar said David Jezewski will succeed the retiring Ernie Jackson as CEO. Jezewski is currently director of business development.
According to the credit union, Jezewski is an Elyria, Ohio native, a Wright State University alumnus and a U.S. Army veteran with nearly 15 years of credit union experience. In his current job, Jezewski specializes in community development and economic growth, employer relations, strategic planning and business lending. He previously served as chairman of CommStar's board for 10 years.
Jackson will retire in April after a 19-year credit union career. He served as CEO of CommStar since 2000.
As CEO, Jackson "oversaw some of the credit union's most notable growth, including several mergers and three new branch openings in Lorain, Avon and Amherst," the credit union said in a statement.
CommStar was founded in 1938.
