ERIE, Penn.–Erie Federal Credit union has opened a new headquarters and branch office here in what was formerly Glenwood Elementary School.
The credit union has cut the ribbon on the new 42,000-square-foot facility, in which designers worked to save some of the historic aspects of the former school.
After nearly 60 years of educating students, the Erie School District closed Glenwood Elementary school in 2012. After three years of vacancy, Erie Federal Credit Union broke ground on the property.
The credit union said it has consolidated all of its backoffice operations in the new facility.
