City Sells CU Land For $10 So New Headquarters Can Be Built

DAYTON, Ohio–The city of Dayton has agreed to sell about half an acre of land downtown to CODE Credit Union for $10.

In turn, CODE intends to spend a bit more, about $2.5-million, to build a new headquarters.  CODE’s plans call for a two-story, 8,600-square-foot building next to its existing branch.

CODE CU’s current headquarters was built in 1996 when it had $30-million in assets. Today, the CU has assets of $115 million, and reports it has outgrown its current facility.

The credit union plans to keep its existing 8,500-square-foot building and use it as a branch, but will move its administration, call center and server room to the new headquarters facility. CODE has 32 employees downtown now, and plans to hire additional staff.
