OMAHA, Neb.–Centris FCU has announced plans to build a new $30-million headquarters.
The new facility will be built in the Sterling Ridge office park, with work on the four-story building set to begin this spring. Construction is expected to take two years.
CEO Steve Swanstrom told the Omaha World Herald the expanded space is needed following 40% growth over the past five years. The $715-million Centris has approximately 102,000 members.
According to the credit union, about 150 of its workers will move to the new 115,000-square-foot building, which will offer underground as well as surface parking. Centris’ corporate staff currently is divided between two different sites, the World Herald reported.
The new building will include an outdoor patio and a community meeting room, as well as the credit union’s 115th branch. Centris expects to lease a portion of the building to other tenants.
It has sold its current main corporate base at 118th and Q Streets to Project Harmony. Centris will continue to lease that space until its 2021 move to Sterling Ridge, the Omaho World Herald reported.
