COLUMBUS, Ind.—Centra Credit Union partnered with the local Fraternal Order of Police Lodge to provide Christmas gifts for needy children.
The Christmas tree at the Centra Credit Union branch in Seymour is decorated with gift tags provided by the FOP Donald M. Winn Lodge 108 for its Cops and Kids program. Each tag represents a Jackson County child the lodge plans to take shopping to purchase needed clothes and a toy, The Tribune reported.
The Centra Holiday Giving is coordinated through the CU’s Centra Foundation, and last year it provided gifts for 31 kids. The effort began Nov. 21 and ran through Dec.10.
Lyn Morgan, president of the Centra Foundation, said the credit union realizes the holiday season is a very busy time for people, and despite good intentions, many people don’t find the time to support the FOP Cops and Kids program.
“Our goal is to make it a little easier to provide help during the holiday season,” she told The Tribune. “We welcome gifts of all sizes. When added together, the donations will make a difference for a Jackson County child.”
