Catholic FCU Unveils Its New Name

SAGINAW, Mich. – Catholic Federal Credit Union has announced its new name and brand identity.

Effective in June, the credit union will be known as Jolt Credit Union. It said it is making the move as part of a strategic initiative to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone in the community as well as reflecting the entire membership.

“Our new name reflects our energy and dedication to making a difference in the lives of everyone we help and serve,” said Alan Watson, president/CEO at CFCU. “Jolt captures the essence and commitment to giving our members and community all we’ve got, every day and everywhere. These are the benefits of membership our members have come to know and expect from us and our dedication to serving our membership remains as strong as ever.”

As CUToday.info earlier reported here, the $347-million Catholic FCU said it was changing its name in part due to a decrease in the number of Catholics in its market areas, as well as to reflect a field of membership that includes anyone who lives, works, attends school, worships or regularly conducts business in Bay, Saginaw, Midland, Gratiot, Gladwin, Isabella, Clare, Arenac, Tuscola, Huron, Sanilac, Osceola, Wexford, Mecosta, Montcalm, Iosco, Ogemaw, Roscommon, and Missaukee counties of Michigan.

“This is an exciting evolution for our credit union,” said Bridget Looby Staffileno, VP-community affairs at CFCU. “We have always been ‘all in’ whether it is with our members or when we are out volunteering in the community. Our vibrant new name and brand reflects who we are today and symbolizes our dynamic future of welcoming anyone to join!”

Founded in 1956, the soon-to-be Jolt Credit Union has more than 26,000 members.
