BALDWIN, N.Y.—It’s happened again—and again.
In what’s become an oddly recurring theme across the country, cars continue to crash into credit union buildings.
The latest cases come from Long Island and Pennsylvania.
In Baldwin, N.Y., a car slammed into Four Leaf Federal Credit Union around 10 p.m. Sunday, shattering the front door and windows. According to News12 Long Island, police say the driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes. Fortunately, no one was hurt, and the building remains structurally sound. Crews boarded up the entrance after the crash.
Just five days earlier, another credit union crash made headlines in Bloomsburg, Pa. A car drove into the lobby of Service 1st Federal Credit Union on Columbia Boulevard, forcing the branch to close indefinitely. The cause of that crash remains unclear, and authorities have yet to confirm whether there were any injuries.
