KERNERSVILLE, N.C.—With the catastrophic flooding in South Carolina impacting many within the CU movement, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF) said it is set to receive disaster-relief contributions to support those in need.
“Together with the Carolinas Credit Union League, the CCUF will continue to gather reports from credit unions about staff and volunteers displaced or affected by floods that in some areas exceeded levels reached in many hundreds of years. Foundation outreach and assistance will go directly to individuals who work in or serve the credit union movement,” the Foundation said in a release.
“The response by numerous organizations and individuals demonstrates their pride and heart for serving others in need,” CCUF Board Chair John Slack said. “We are thankful that most credit unions are physically and operationally sound, and we know they, too, are opening their arms to their communities. Our efforts are to provide aid to those who each and every day put the needs of members and citizens ahead of their own.”
Contributions payable to “Carolinas Credit Union Foundation” noted for “Disaster Relief - Carolinas” can be mailed to Andrea Williams, Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, 1231 Shields Road, Suite 5, Kernersville, NC 27284. Instructions for contribution via ACH to First Carolina Corporate Credit Union can be made to Brittani Champlin at bchamplin@carolinasleague.org or 800-822-8859, ext. 161.
