HOUSTON–Cardtronics has launched an ATM network that is offering digital rewards to go with cash withdrawals.
Called the “ALLTM Network,” the network will offer “money-saving deals and discounts” at stores that host ALLTM machines.
It works this way, according to Cardtronics: consumers withdraw cash as they would at any ATM, while a second digital screen atop the unit displays in-store discounts and incentives, plus local weather and more. Using a smartphone app to facilitate the digital deals, consumers scan a QR code printed on their ALLTM receipt to receive the discounts being offered at that location.
Consumers can select as many digital rewards as they care to redeem. The consumer then picks up the respective product and presents the mobile coupons at point-of-sale to be scanned and redeemed. The ALLTMs are currently being tested at 17 Fresh & Easy stores in Phoenix, with a wider rollout planned for 2015. The company said the machines are designed to deliver more foot traffic to retailers.
