Car Crashes Into Credit Union, Killing One Person

SAN JOSE, Calif.—Another car has crashed into a credit union, this time killing a painter who was working on the building.

CUToday.info has reported on the rash of cars colliding into CU offices over the past two years, but this is the first incident in which a fatality was reported.

The accident happened at an office of Alliance Credit Union at 265 Curtner Ave. The crash occurred in the morning on Veteran’s Day when the credit union was closed. No employees or members were inside at the time, but painters were hired to do some work on the building. An initial investigation showed two cars collided into one another before one of them swerved into the building, ABC7 News reported.

A black SUV crashed through the front doors of the office and struck the painter who was working inside (see photo), the news station reported.

The second painter was transported to a hospital and is expected to be okay.
