LONE TREE, Colo.—Canvas Credit Union today will present a new film about the life of legendary Colorado State University head coach, Sonny Lubick.
“Sonny Lubick: From the Heart” will premiere at an exclusive invitation-only screening at 7:00 p.m. at Canvas Stadium, which is home to the CSU Rams.
“We just knew we needed to tell Sonny’s story,” said Canvas President and CEO Todd Marksberry. “Not just because he’s awesome, which he is, but because Sonny has always led with his heart, creating positive impact both on and off the field.”
In partnership with Altitude Sports & Entertainment, Canvas Credit Union said it spearheaded the creation of this documentary to celebrate the positive influence Louis Matthew “Sonny” Lubick has had on CSU, the people of Fort Collins, and others, the credit union said.
Lubick has for more than a decade worked for Canvas CU (formerly known as Public Service Credit Union) as its VP of community outreach.
‘Dream Come True’
“Having Sonny join our credit union family was a dream come true,” said Marksberry. “He exemplifies our vision to be known for our heart and leading in the community. With his help, we’ve been able to help even more Coloradoans afford life.”
Lubick was named National Coach of the Year in 1994 by Sports Illustrated and oversaw 10 winning seasons, but Canvas CU added that in the film “Sonny’s humility gleams just as bright as his accomplishments. His motivation is helping people, and creating excellence, never personal accolades.”
Following the premiere, Altitude will be televising the documentary on Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
