California, Nevada Leagues Name Board Chairs, Exec Committees

Chuck Papenfus

FONTANA, Calif.–Chuck Papenfus, president and CEO of Inland Valley FCU, has been named board chairman of the California Credit Union League.

Rounding out the League board’s executive committee are vice chairman Hank Barrett, president and CEO of Valley First Credit Union in Modesto, Calif., and Nader Moghaddam, president and CEO Financial Partners Credit Union in Downey, Calif.  Past board chairman Jon Hernandez—president and CEO of CalCom Federal Credit Union, Mattel Federal Credit Union, and Nikkei Credit Union—is an ex-officio member.

According to the California league, Papenfus has established as his top priority continued high-quality efforts in advocacy for credit unions in all areas. He’d also like to see further efficiency measures and collaboration with other trade associations to respect the allocation of member funds within the credit union system.

“I also want to work on efforts to unite credit unions so that we can collectively improve our market share and help more consumers than ever, and support all credit unions, whether large or small, to be the best choice for consumers,” said Papenfus, who has served on the California Credit Union League Board of Directors since 2010.
