California Credit Union League Becomes California’s Credit Unions

ONTARIO, Calif.--The California Credit Union League has rebranded as California’s Credit Unions, the league announced.

"The new name reflects a renewed commitment to representing and championing more than 245 credit unions that serve 14.2 million Californians," the league stated.

“Our new name, California’s Credit Unions, is the fullest expression of who we are and the role we hold in the lives of Californians,” said Scott Simpson, president and CEO. “It represents the confidence built over 91 years of progress and a clear vision for the future, one where, together with our credit unions, we lead the way toward a more connected and resilient California.”

As CUToday.info reported, Simpson has been tapped to succeed America's Credit Unions President and CEO Jim Nussle, who is retiring in November.

The refreshed brand retains the organization’s “C-sun” symbol, a representation of California’s spirit, now modernized with a brighter, more open design that reflects its evolution, values, and forward momentum. A revitalized color palette conveys renewed purpose and confidence, underscoring the organization’s role as a bold advocate, innovative leader, and trusted partner to credit unions, the league explained.

Focused On Advocacy And Impact

California’s Credit Unions said it will continue its strong advocacy presence in Sacramento, Washington, D.C., and beyond, "ensuring every Californian has access to financial strength and stability. The organization remains committed to building the future through policies, partnerships, and initiatives that help credit unions expand opportunities for the communities they serve," the league said.

“When credit unions thrive, California thrives,” added Simpson. “This is more than a name change, it’s a renewed promise to serve with purpose, innovation, and impact.”
