GLENDALE, Calif.–A new CUSO, California Members Title Insurance Co., has been launched by California Credit Union here.
It will serve both other credit unions and institution lenders throughout southern California and the entire state for both residential and commercial property needs. The CUSO is a full-service title insurer and settlement organization.
California Members Title Insurance will be headed by President/CEO Frank Berriz, who is a four-decade veteran of the title insurance business. He worked in the title industry for several years before co-founding American Coast Title in southern California in 1988 and running the company until 2013, when he sold his interest in it.
"Our mission is to provide superior service at competitive rates, and deliver the ultimate in customer satisfaction. Being locally based, we can be more responsive in addition to providing excellent settlement services and protection for our clients," Berriz said in a released statement.
While most title insurance companies outsource many of their functions, California Members Title Insurance said it will do everything locally. "For any of our credit union, mortgage banker, and institutional lender clients, they will be dealing with us right here in California, not talking with someone in an offshore call center," Berriz said.
