SAN BRUNO, Calif.–The Police Credit Union has opened its new administrative building that among other amenities includes a basketball court.
The three-story, 68,000-square-foot building includes a two-level subterranean parking garage and 22,000 square feet of leasable space on the first floor, along with a 1,500-square-foot branch. It was designed and built for the credit union, which recently changed its name from SF Police Credit Union, by Chesterfield, Mo.-based NewGround.
“In a timeless, progressive exterior, the headquarters features glass fiber reinforced concrete, a Trespa panel system, and a two-story glass atrium entryway to allow natural sunlight to flood the building,” NewGround said. “Interior design features include an open floor plan with collaborative space, learning centers, and recharge stations all accompanied by cafes on each floor.”
Latest Technology
The facility also features the latest in digital technology, smartboards, sound masking technology to reduce noise transmission and to provide additional privacy within the open space, as well as a dynamic environmental graphics and digital signage communications package. Digital screens are located in the main lobby, branch, conference rooms, and boardroom. The conference rooms also feature iPad schedulers where employees can reserve rooms and display upcoming scheduled meetings.
In addition to the two levels of underground parking for 164 vehicles, there are 46 additional surface parking spaces. Within the parking garage, there is a basketball court to allow the employees to get some exercise at lunchtime, accompanied by locker rooms with showers after their workout, the company said.
Comprehensive Process
NewGround said the process began with a comprehensive market analysis and a growth strategy, resulting in the need to design a new facility to accommodate up to 150 full-time employees over the next 15 years.
The Police Credit Union’s program requirements are currently housed on the second and third floors for the next 15 years, when at such time they will be able to recapture the first-floor leased space without needing to add on to the building, according to NewGround.
“We were honored to work with The Police Credit Union to design and deliver their new administrative facility, setting them apart in the industry to help bring them success for many years to come,” said Kevin Blair, President and CEO at NewGround.
