CHARLOTTTE, N.C.–Credit unions serving firefighters and first-responders have concluded their annual meeting here.
The 5th annual meeting and conference of the National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions was one of the largest ever held by the group, according to its CEO, Grant Sheehan.
“This is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill conference. It’s unique in that all attendees have a common bond in serving their select group of members – firefighters and first-responders.”
Among the topics on the agenda at the meeting were credit union legislation, NCUA regulatory updates, technology, case study marketing programs and implementation of social media programs.
Speakers included NCUA Chair J. Mark McWatters, NAFCU CEO Dan Berger, CUNA Mutual Chief Economist Steven Rick; Kevin Smith of the Tim Harrington Group; Sundeep Kapurm president of Digital Creedence; Joe Woods of CUAlliance; Bernie Winn, CEO of Boston Firefighters CU; FBI Special Agent Brian Cyprian; Dixie Abramian, CEO of Firefighters First CU, and Shannon O’Neill, Marketing Manager with Dayton Firefighter FCU.
Special events included tours of Hendricks Motor Sports, Charlotte Speedway, Billy Graham Museum and the NASCAR Hall of Fame and Museum.
